Zeitgeist Sound Studios is a state-of-the-art mastering facility located in historic Long Island City, Queens, just minutes from midtown Manhattan. Opened by award winning engineer James Cruz, Zeitgeist boasts equipment by Sequoia, Algorithmix, Prism, Z-Sys, SSL and more. The monitoring system is by Dynaudio Acoustics. The acoustics of the space were custom designed by James to create a comfortable living room feel with lots of natural sunlight streaming in from huge windows. The spacious and inviting lounge welcomes all visitors with it’s centerpiece being the 6 foot long cherry wood bar and 20 foot long by 9 foot high windows. The studio is just as inviting with it’s large cozy couches. There are also panoramic views of the Manhattan skyline from the rooftop. Studio Interior

Since its opening in August 2008, Zeitgeist has been home to new projects by Beyonce, Three-6 Mafia and Yeyo from The D.E.Y. We are also proud to have mastered the 2008 Grammy nominated "Stand Out" by Tye Tribbet & G.A., 2008 Grammy winner "The Sound" by Mary Mary and 2009 five time Latin Grammy winner including Album Of The Year "Los De Atras Vienen Conmigo" by Calle 13.

Zeitgeist Sound Studios marks the evolution of James' approach to mastering. By streamlining the equipment down to only what is necessary James is able to keep his signal flow to an absolute minimum. This keeps the integrity of the mix while still remaining flexible enough to accomplish whatever is needed for a particular project. The studio is also set up to do projects from all over the world via secure ftp servers. The studio is built with the future of the industry in mind with a nod to the past. It is truly the “Spirit Of The Times”.
